We have worked in the scaffolding hire sector for over two decades and the one thing we can say with confidence is that the trade is both enjoyable and fulfilling. If you like manual work that keeps you naturally fit and you live in Winchester or the surrounding areas, you may well already have seen our scaffolding erectors working on a local project.

Good Communication – Scaffolding companies need their teams to be great communicators. There is plenty of interaction needed onsite, not just with other scaffolders but with contractors too. Communication ensures faster and safer service delivery.
Work at Height – To provide scaffolding services, you will need a good head for heights. Some of the buildings we work on in Winchester are quite tall so, if you have a tendency to struggle with heights, scaffolding isn’t the job for you.
Fitness – Climbing all day and having to carry equipment to different ends of a site is a big part of the scaffolding hire sector. To cope with workloads, you will need to be physically fit and either have or be ready to build physical strength.
Safety – Scaffolding erectors have high-risk jobs and need to understand how to assemble, disassemble and use equipment safely. To work in our sector, you must be prepared to follow safety regulations and to sit CISRS courses through the CITB.
Coordination – Scaffolding companies use a range of tubes and boards on sites in Winchester, all fixed together by couplers. Using a combination of heavy and comparatively small equipment at height needs concentration and hand-to-eye coordination.
Technical Ability – Projects need careful planning and as part of a scaffolding hire package, companies like our own need to produce detailed technical drawings. You will need to learn how to read these and to use them as a part of the job role.
